The quality of living condicitions and wellbeing of city dwellers is a central goal of urban policy. Urban plannig plays a critical role in reducing the levels of pollution and increasing the quality of life on cities. Our consumption patterns are completely different from what ther were twenty years ago. The sprawling nature of Europe´s cities is critically important because of the major impact that are evident in increased energy, land and soil consumption.
