Planes de Transporte Urbano Sostenible

There are serious pressures that contributes to significant effects on the environment: poor air quality, traffic volumnes and congestion, high leves of ambient noise and high levels of greenhouse emissions. The Commision´s Thematic Strategy on the urban environment (2006) stressed that urban mobility contributes significantly to these pressures. That is why  it strongly recommend the development and implementation of Sustainable Urban Transport Plans and proposed that guidance be prepared to help local authorities in this respect.
